How do you stop wanting what you cannot have?

These 2 parables I’ve recently come across that touched me. I hope they do the same for you. The first is a great insight. The second is a teaching from Sir Ramakrishna. “Why do you insist that my normal self is unreal?” a disciple once complained to his master. “Why not put it another way?” the master replied, “What makes you think you are real?” It’s obvious,” said the disciple. “I think and feel and act. I know myself for who I am, with all my habits, my likes and dislikes.” “Yes but what do you really know?” the master insisted. “Did you have your habits when you were asleep?” “Of course not. I am unconscious when I am asleep.” “Perhaps you are unconscious now.” “No, right now I am awake.” “Really?” The master smiled. “Can you remember everything that happened to you yesterday? Or even what you were thinking an hour ago? Isn’t your self-awareness very selective, amounting to just a partial memory? And then there are your dreams, which you lose as soon as you wake up. Not to mention that your habits and preferences are always changing and even when you do seem stable, don’t your emotions often betray you? An insult from a passing stranger can completely throw you off balance, or the news that someone close to you has died. Isn’t there also the problem of being lost in wishes, false hopes, and various mental illusions?” The disciple looked baffled. “All this may be true, but none of it makes me unreal. Perhaps I am just very confused.” The master shook his head. “If so, then everyone is just as confused. The truth is that what we call a person is constantly in flux. There are long stretches of forgotten time, not to mention our lapse of consciousness when we sleep. Memory is faulty, and only the mind’s craving for continuity keeps alive the illusion that ‘I’ is constant. ‘I’ is never constant. For every experience there is a difference experiencer.” “I am beginning to see what you mean,” said the disciple. “Although you make is seem that nothing can be trusted.” “Nothing about the changing personality can be trusted,” said the master. But there is more to life than experience. Things come and go – feelings, events, and achievements. Pleasure is inevitably followed by pain. Success is bound up with failure. Yet behind all this show of change, something remains aware at all times. Find your what that is awareness is and you will have what can be trusted. This is the way out of illusion.” ____________________________________________________________________________________ A disciple once came to a teacher to learn how to meditate on God. The teacher gave him instructions, but the disciple soon returned and said that he could not carry them out. Every time he tried to meditate he found himself thinking about his pet buffalo. “Well, then” the teacher said. “You meditate on that buffalo you are so fond of.” The disciple shut himself up in a room and began to concentrate on the buffalo. After some time, the teacher knocked on the door of the disciple’s room. The disciple answered: “Sir, I am sorry, I cannot come out to greet you. This door is too small. My horns will be in the way.” Then the teacher smiled and said:” Splendid! You have become identified with the object of your desire through concentration. Now fix that concentration on God and you will easily succeed.”

Recently I have been studying A Course in Miracles. I felt an urge to share some of what I have learned in a specific topic; that of relationships. This is my Truth and if what I have said here does not touch you than please disregard it. Relationships are assignments meaning that no meetings are accidental or coincidental. “Those who are to meet, will meet, because together they have the potential for a holy relationship.” (A Course in Miracles) What we call a “special relationship” is an illusion for these relationships are based in fear and guilt. They are manufactures of what we seek to rectify. Since only love is real, to set aside one over others is a lie of the ego. The purpose of a holy relationship is to heal our self-loathing, knowing that healing is why we are together and trusting that the relationship will continuously heal through mutual forgiveness. To be holy is to be a friend. Any relationship can shift to holiness by changing our minds. This releases others to be who they are and releases ourselves to see their inherent beauty. Our egos reflect our past wounds. Pure love asks for nothing but peace because peace comes from us (from within). The other person in the relationship is here to provide the perfect lesson to be learned form that person. We choose how they show up in our lives just as they choose how we show up in theirs. In every moment we have the chance to change our past and reprogram the future by being Present. A spiritual relationship is authentic because the two have recognized they were brought together for real work (to love) and are willing to give and accept rigorous honesty and forgiveness. These relationships are just like any other except that each person understands that they are participating in a healing of themselves and each other. Anger is energy. Its repression is unhealthy; however its expression is the key. Expressed anger from love is of God. Only what we have not given is lacking in any situation. Our barriers to love are consciously chosen by us because we create what we defend against. In other words, what we resist persists. We are never angry for the reasons we think we are. When we allow the past to infiltrate the present, we punish others for what was done by someone else. This is fear and not of love. And since only love is real and what isn’t love isn’t real, our fears are a hallucination. We also tend not to see others as they are now, in the Present. We see their “shadow figures” and judge them as such. But judgment is of fear and therefore not real. We decide what we want to see before we see it. It is not accident that at first, the other person appears to be perfect. It is in those first moments that we truly see them as they really are. And then we allow ego to set in. We allow our past to creep into our perceptions which destroy our ability to love. The fact still remains that it is our problem, not theirs. The meaning of forgiveness is to consciously focus on loving thoughts and letting go of fearful ones. This is a process. Forgiveness is selective remembering; to focus on love only. It is to enter into all relationships without the temptation to judge and find fault. Forgiveness is a decision to see others as they are right Now. Forgiveness is discernment between what is real (love) and what is unreal (fear). Not be too hard on yourself. The ego will try to make you feel bad. I know because mine loves to attack me. If you are reading this, then it is your time to gain this knowledge and I am blessed to have been the conduit for you. Everything is right on time. Namaste

Jyotish (meaning light) is a detailed system of astrology from India. It is literally to examine what the Light has to say about the future. As in other forms of astrology, Jyotish says certain planets are generally beneficial as pertaining to their energies and how these influence. There can be generated 16 different Jyotish charts that are all separate aspects of an individual person. These charts may cover among other things: minute motions of planets, time subdivided to predict one’s future, and several thousand individual patterns between any 2 or 3 planet’s arrangements called yogas.

Jyotish is a quantum scince. By exchanging energy, each point in the universe is communicating with the other. This means that energy contains information. In Jyotish, considerations that the universe is bound this way are important clues to future events. Jyotish asserts that information is encoded into energy and has human significance. As with the meaning of the word jyotish, the future is spelled out in light.

Because the Soul does not adhere to material level influences (feelings, movement, shape, etc…) is it apart from ordinary existence, and yet very much an iatrical aspect of ourselves. This may indicate that the Soul is the zero point, or junction point between time and timelessness; a point that is part of both dimensions.

In India, the soul has two parts.

Jiva is the individual soul that we carry with us on the material plane. It is also tarried along throughout the multitude of lifetimes we choose to experience. It is the aspect of us that must come to the full realization of God. It is subject to acts of good and bad and contains all the Karma it will incur; however as we make changes to our lives, jiva is changed as well.

Atman is the second part of our Soul. It is the pure spirit. It does not come with us onto this material place. It is the same as God in as it cannot change. It stays with God on the virtual plane where it is timeless, unbound, without form.

However, the Soul has its own agenda to accomplish. The Jiva must, as the Vedas terms, overcome the 5 Kelshas, or causes of human suffering:
Ignorance of the Nature of Reality
Identification with the ego
Attraction toward desire
Repulsion of desire
Fear of Death

Simple as it may sound, if you explore the true nature of Reality, all pain will eventually come to an end.

The Hebrew called it Shekhinah. Hinduism called it Sat Chit Ananda. It is called Darshan in sanskrit. All these words stand for light, eternal bliss consciousness and the force field encompassing who is a Saint. "This is not knowledge you learn, it is knowledge you turn into." (The Vedas) Even before the discoveries of Edison and Benjamin Franklin with regard to light, the ancient mystics knew we were of Light. Even Tesla, who conjoured the limits of our fabric of this plane and pushed it as far as he could, was certain that there was more.... much more. The basis of healing is quantum. Healing is made real by a manipulation of light. In the aura that surrounds our form, can be seen clear distinguishing patterns of light play. When the body, a physical representatrion of the Light body, becomes distorted (through dis-ease or misuse), we can trace this back to a distortion of the Light body. We are God; we are without limit, qualities, or definition. As we are "put together" (the form we show which is the physical body), we must re-mind ourselves that in Truth we are unborn, undying, unchanging, unmoving, immeasurable, invisible, intangible, infinite. Imagination is the creator, creation and the process of creating all fused together. Yet all matter is malleable. We are swirling bits of energy, vibrating at incredible speeds.This turns my attention to a Hindu ideal called second attention. This is the ideal when we gleen a deeper perspective into a seemingly ordinary event. It is the understanding that we all inhabit more than one reality at a time. Intuition and wisdom are also "second attention". Know this as fact: There Are No Victims, Everything Is Well Ordered, Randon Events Are Guided By A Higher Wisdom, Chaos Is An Illusion, Nothing Happens Without Reason. Each one of us is a different version of God coming to Knowledge through Expereince. Each soul you come into contact with is an expression of God; an expression of Yourself. Do you dislike yourself so much as to be less than Loving to everyone? Where is any judgment valid when experience is the difference between Absolute and Manifestation? St. Germain called us to "be in love" with each other. As we fall in love with some, feel that excitement and desire for all. This is not a distorted licence to harm others, but a plea to regard all as we are: The Love in Me Salutes the Love in you. Remeber, my Beloved, It is what It is until It is not, and It is never not.

Having read much on this subject of late, I bring to you here, my knowledge. However, if any of what I know does not touch you, than this knowledge is not for you and I ask that you please disregard it. As Ramtha says, what is truth is what touches you. We have created God in personification of ourselves. These attributes are: fight or flight, reactive, restful awareness, intuitive, creative, visionary and sacred. As we pass through our own levels of awareness, we become aware of God in new ways. "You believe that you were created to serve God, but in the end, you may discover that Gos was created to serve you." -- Anonymous Indian Guru God is as we are. This is hard for some to sallow because at this present moment, their needs are specifically tied to the Ego's needs. Yet, as we grow and expand, our percetion og God grows and expands with us. Any perception of God through religion is merely a fragment of God. A being that is unbound, has no image, no role to play, and no location cannot be and would not be tethered to this Material plane. The Ego is so built into us as an atribute of this material plane. Therefore, the Ego is not "wrong" or "bad" but is. When we are out of balance, we have forgotten what it was like to be without Ego and therefore serve the Ego's needs without question; even unto the false sense of Enlightenment. The Buddhist ideal of ego death, meaning that the more you base your center on ego the more suffering you willexperience, is an example of this. When we free ourselves of addictions (of all modes) we are therefore free to be Who We Really Are. Detachment, rejection, aquisition are all forms of Ego. Since the Ego doesn't beleive itself to be beyond this physical form, without these aforementioned things, the Ego will die. And so we believe that we will die. We know, thanks to Einstein, that energy is neither created nor destroyed. We also know that when we break ourselves (and everything else) we are tiny fragments of vibrating energy blinking in and out of exisitence. This is the quantum level. This is where we originate. Yet, even that is not true. To originate, means that we must have a beginning, yet since we are energy, we cannot have an origin. And this is where we enter the world of God. God is beyond even the quantum level, existing beyond form, time, space, etc... This is evident in when we go beyond quantum levels. As we break down the energy even further, we find NOTHING. No time, no space, no light. And so we come to the Truth about ourselves. We are God. Everything moves from Nothing to something. The dellusion is in the belief in what we see. But how can we trust what is seen when it isn't really there. The brain computes like a computer in that it translates blinking photons into matter. Without the brain, we would not be able to percieve this material plane. However, since we are essentially minute bits of energy blinking in and out of existence, our brains run like the movie projector. When the flim is run through the projector at a certain speed, the images appear to be moving. Ahhh.... See? Well, of course you see. You are watching your version of the same movie we all are watching. So who is watching the movie? "I am That, You are That, All this is That." -- Vedanta The mind is beyond the brain. Memory centers have been identified in the brain, yet we have not found any memories sotred anywhere in the brain. It takes no brain activity to know your name. Preferential taste (opinions) take no brain activity as well. Intuitive certainty cannot be measured in the brain. And yet these things exist. Hmmm... "It is the mind which expereinces and it is the brain which records the expereinces." -- Wilder Penfield The mind is an ghost created by neurons, yet is maintains its own energy outside the energy attibuted to the brain for functionality. The mind remains intact even after damage to the brain like head truamas, comas, severe reactions to anesthesia. Knowing this, the mind must be beyond the brain, and yet closely tied to it as we know individual epxereince as well as the ability to percieve apathetic epxereince. This unmanifested domain is beyond time for with our minds we can remember the past and even glimpse the future without exerting any energy from the actual brain itself. So what... Well, yeah, that is true. Nothing matters unless we attribute meaning to it and evne then, it is our personal perspective that attaches to that meaning. If we are God, and God knows what we know, then the pointt must be to experience what you know. To know is to gain knowledge. To apply is to experience. Naked, you and I re-cognize the rush beneath our skin. Pulsing currents commune; minute eruptions through our Minds. Our Energy that never left or came. Given rise to fervor, the only splendor. Our story. We search in every Life, concerned with our Minds. Glancing backward to birth, and forward to our departure. We are Light. Not created or destroyed. Masters in all Time. I give my Heart and Soul to You. I am out of my Mind. We have made it here and we will tarry Home. No longer await rescue. Back to the One. For You

In disarray, I am rattled
from walking straight backward.
Having just recieved
these petty words misconstrude.
All about the emotions of another
and the sympathy I had offered.
Was I not expected
to be impartial
about my accpetance?
Your smell is intoxicating
like a sweet Port
on a summer's day.
That precocious grin 
of a little boy
having done something wrong.
Butterfly kisses make way
for longings of nights wasted
cloaked only by the dark.
When we lay spent
in the throws of laughter.
When I forgot
I had once held another
just as you hold me.
To feel that rising in us,
like the world has slowly vanished.
To forget all before you;
as I am the first Lover
you have ever known.
Come lay with me
and lie to me.
Tell me tales taller than the mountains...
of a time when I was all you needed.

as is the wisdom
of  the Soul's timelessness.  

Appreciation of these boundries  
enparted by distance,
concedes My anticipation of
physical attainment.

Spirit is not forsaken;
Our bodies will redefine worship

As I know You in Pure Spiritual Love,
so shall I know You again
in amorous communion.  

For Our continuous gravitation
to these chosen forms

Delight could not illustrate

the hurried beat of my heart as I wait for you.

Time winks knowingly in sarcastic repose.

Hours in this day spent in meditation,

connection to all profoundly on my Mind.

Remembrances reflect Our language,

of a mutual destiny within grasp.

Change makes way a path,

each step reveals Perfection.

I, as the Observer,

appreciate this moment;

Love in True Expression.

Enlightened as chosen begets

Trust between our Souls.

How joyous is this participation?

How this place facilitates the Energy needed.

No difference, simply Acceptance of One.
